Capital BrassWorks is going to take you on a whirlwind tour of the music of France with music depicting the artwork of the Louvre to the torrid melodies and dances of Bizet's Carmen. Along the way we are going to feast on a world premiere, Symphony For Brass, that has been written especially for Capital BrassWorks by Ottawa composer Jan Jarvlepp. Jill Kirwan will transport us with the hauntingly beautiful melody of Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte. A suite of old French dances ensures that the program spans the ages of glorious music from the Renaissance to today.
